What are TFRs?
A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is a type of Notices to Airmen
(NOTAM). A TFR defines an area restricted to air travel due to a hazardous
condition, a special event, or a general warning for the entire FAA
airspace. The text of the actual TFR contains the fine points of the
restriction.
How do I operate the TFR site?

The List Page lists all active TFRs, with some summary information. The
page provides drop down lists to limit the number of TFRs shown by Center,
State, or Type. The detail of the TFR can be viewed by clicking on the TFR
itself, which takes one to the Detail Page.
Note: After selecting an item in a drop down, one must click 'GO' beside
the drop down to refresh the List Page.

The Detail Page shows the actual text of the NOTAM along with a small
graphic. A larger printable graphic can be viewed by clicking on the

with some background or orienting data layers. The controls at the top and
right allow the user to zoom, pan, and turn on additional layers. The list
below the map shows a summary of all TFRs at the United States view, or it
shows a list of TFRs within the map's current view.

cause an action to occur. Also, one can hold down the left mouse button on
the map and drag the mouse after pressing zoom, to draw a box, which the
map will change its view to that box. Finally, after selecting an item in a
drop down box or a layer to turn on/off, one must click 'GO' or 'Update
Map' respectively.
